A structure that works
- Who they are to you — one honest sentence.
- One specific memory. Specific beats poetic every time.
- What you promise. Three to five promises is plenty.
- What you're committing to, in your own words.
Practical rules
- Agree on length together — one minute each is a good target.
- Agree on tone. One tearful, one comedic is a rough combination.
- Write them on a card. Phones die and hands shake.
- Read them out loud before the day. Written words and spoken words are different animals.
